VALLEY LODE DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The VLD Scholarship Award is made available to all VLD Garden Club scholarship recipients who are majoring in one of the many “garden club” related majors.
Garden Clubs send the VLD Scholarship information’s three items (Scholarship Program, Application, and Financial Form) to club scholarship recipient(s) who meet the requirement: must be majoring in and planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, or horticulture. Garden clubs will prepare a garden club endorsement for their applying student(s).
Student Applications are due July 1,
The VLD Scholarship Chair will announce the honoree by August 15 with an instruction letter mailed to the student.
The Scholarship Honoree will also be announced at the October VLD General Meeting

About Gary Coldicutt:
I graduated in 2025 from Hughson High School. I was an active member of the Hughson FFA, awarded the title of Aggie of the Month last October, and a team member of the Farm Power Team, placing first in Stanislaus County Occupational Olympics last year. I also played football two years and stayed on the honor roll all four years of high school while working part time as a busser at The Fruit Yard. I am enrolled at MJC and plan to complete my general education before transferring to Montana State University, Northern to obtain my Bachelor of Science degree in Diesel Technology. After I graduate, I plan to return to the Central Valley to help our local farmers as an expert in farm machinery. Again, thank you so much for the financial assistance that you have provided to me and many others before me.
